Synopsis: In this presentation, Dr. Sandra Tai will demonstrate how recent innovations in clear aligner technology now allows the orthodontist to treat a wide variety of malocclusions such as deep bite, anterior open bite, Class II, Class III and premolar extraction cases with clear aligners. Following Dr. Sandra Tai’s lecture, Dr. Brandon Huang will present independently treated cases to demonstrate when appropriate clear aligner techniques are applied, treating complicated malocclusion with clear aligners is a reality to practitioners today.
The Speaker: 1. Dr. Sandra Tai was born in Aldershot, England. She received her graduate training in Orthodontics at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis, USA and graduated with a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science degree in 1990. Dr Sandra Tai currently practices with her two associates, Dr. Brandon Huang and Dr. Charlene Tai Loh, in Richmond and Burnaby, BC. Dr Sandra Tai has been an Invisalign certified orthodontist since 2000 and is currently an Invisalign Top 1%/ Diamond Plus Provider who has treated over 1,700+ cases with Invisalign. She was appointed Clinical Assistant Professor in Orthodontics at the University of British Columbia since 1996, teaching in both undergraduate and graduate orthodontic programs. Dr Tai is a member of the Editorial Board of the Journal of Aligner Orthodontics and the author of the textbook “Clear Aligner Technique”. She is an international speaker and educator, and has lectured at universities and dental conferences all over the world. 2. Dr. Brandon Huang received his DDS from Columbia University School of Dental Medicine and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a Certificate in Orthodontics and Master of Science. He is a part-time undergraduate clinical instructor at UBC and is currently under training to become an examiner at the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
