Invitation to Annual Gala Extravaganza

About the CCDSBC

Established in 1988, the CCDSBC is a Vancouver-based non-profit organization dedicated to promoting professionalism, continuing education, and community engagement within the dental profession.

Over the years, the society has created a number of Endowment and Bursary Funds to advance dental education, support research, and provide care for underprivileged children. CCDSBC has also raised funds for initiatives such as the dental clinic at Vancouver General Hospital, the BC Oral Cancer Prevention Program, the UBC Community Mobile Dental Clinic, and the dental operatory at the Villa Cathay Care Home.

This year, proceeds from our gala will support the Spring for Kids Foundation, a Canadian charity that helps children with cleft and craniofacial conditions. The foundation funds education, surgical missions, ongoing care, and research—with a vision to empower children with facial differences to grow into confident, capable individuals who enrich their communities and inspire those around them.

Cruise Around the World

Date and Venue: Saturday, September 15th, 2018 at Hyatt Regency Vancouver

This year marks a major milestone for the Chinese Canadian Dental Society of BC, as it will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary. To commemorate this accomplishment, CCDSBC will hold its Annual Gala Dinner Extravaganza on Saturday, September 15th at the elegant Hyatt Regency Vancouver.

From its humble start-up in 1988, CCDSBC has evolved into an influential and prominent organization locally, and nationally. It has always strived to promote and improve the oral health of our community. Over the years through the Annual Gala, CCDSBC has raised much needed funds to establish Bursaries and Endowment Funds at UBC, update equipment to the dental clinic at Vancouver General Hospital, start up a Mobile Community Dental Clinic in partnership with UBC Dentistry, provide funds to the BC Cancer Agency’s Oral Cancer Prevention Program, and lately equip a dental clinic at Villa Cathay Care Home.

The beneficiary for 2018 will be the BCDA’s “Save A Smile” program. It supports the urgent dental care needs of BC children from low income families. Dental disease has a tremendous impact on children. Untreated problems can cause pain, interfere with sleep, impair nutrition, impact concentration and attendance at school, and create barriers to socialization. Funds raised for Save a Smile are fully directed to patient care. To date, the program has supported nearly 1700 children in accessing dental treatment.

Our Annual Gala is a well-established and sought after event in which we get together for an evening of great camaraderie, fantastic food, exquisite wine, and remarkable entertainment. This year you will be taken on a magical Cruise Around the World.

With plenty of door prizes and auction items, arrive early to view the latest Mercedes-Benz vehicles, and take pictures of the great décor and reminisce with colleagues.

The Theme for The 29th Annual Gala Extravaganza: Tropical Paradise

Date and venue: July 8th, 2017 at Hyatt Regency downtown Vancouver

This year you will be taken to a “Tropical Paradise” with Polynesian and Fire Dancers!

The Chinese Canadian Dental Society of BC would like to invite you to join us in celebrating our 29th Annual Gala Dinner Extravaganza on Saturday, July 8 at the elegant Hyatt Regency Vancouver.

 

It has been another busy and successful year for CCDSBC and the time has come to celebrate the progress of our on-going mission to promote and improve the oral health in our community. Our Annual Gala is a well-established and sought after event in which we get together for an evening of great camaraderie, fantastic food, exquisite wine, and remarkable entertainment.

 

Since our inception in 1988, CCDSBC has undertaken the task of encouraging its members to contribute to the community, and promote communication and cooperation with other organizations. Over the years we have raised funds for: Bursaries & Endowment Funds at UBC, VGH Dental Clinic, UBC Dentistry and the Mobile Community Dental Clinic, and BC Oral Cancer Prevention Program.

 

The beneficiary for 2017 will be the Villa Cathay Care Home. The residents have complex care needs and can no longer remain safely in their own home and require 24 hour supervised care. Funds raised will help to establish a dental operatory managed by the UBC Dentistry Geriatric Program who will be providing treatment in an environment that feels safe and familiar to the long term care residents. The operatory will be also used by other geriatric healthcare professionals.

 

With plenty of door prizes and auction items, arrive early to view the latest Mercedes-Benz vehicles, and take pictures of the great décor and hostesses in Polynesian costumes.
