Speaker: Dr. Brian Bevan

VENUE: Arbutus Club, 2001 Nanton Ave, Vancouver, BC

Time:
6:00-6:30 p.m. (Check-in)

7:15-9:00 p.m. (Demo & Hands-on Session)

Fee: Free (Members) $194 (Non-Members)

Course Description: The success or failure of endodontically treated teeth often depends on the quality of the restoration and anatomically driven endodontic treatment. This innovative means of completing the root canal using bioceramic material is easier, faster, safer, and more predictable than traditional methods. Following the root canal, learn the necessary adjunctive aids to treat the canal properly and the technique to minimize air bubbles and achieve maximum bond strength.

Learning Objective:

  • Discuss bioceramic sealer based obturation techniques for more conservatively shaped canals
  • Advantages of a simple sealer based obturation technique (AKA Single cone), and irrigation methods to facilitate this technique
  • Bioceramic sealers, are they here to stay?
  • Video demo of how to do a same appointment post preparation in a canal obturated with bioceramic sealer
  • Review of a predictable step by step technique for placing a fiber post in the canal for maximum success and retention
  • The “bottom up” approach to preparing the post space and delivering the luting material
  • Using the right “tools” and materials to achieve a predictable step by step post placement protocol

Benefits Of Attending:

  • Learn Fiber Post Systems and the proper technique for etching, bonding, and cementing fibre posts
  • Learn the properties of biocermic root canal sealers, and the proper technique for obturating using a single cone

The Speaker: Brian Bevan. Brian has been an endodontic product and continuing education consultant for over thirty years. He has organized many continuing education events and has been involved in introducing several well known endodontic products to the Canadian market. He speaks to General Dentists and Endodontists on a daily basis about everyday challenges of root canal therapy and the latest technology. He currently is the Endodontic Product Manager for Clinical Research Dental.

Topic: “Injection Molding and the Bioclear Technique”

This lecture is sponsored by Bioclear and Clinical Research Dental. Win door prize at the event!

Speaker: Dr. Rafael Bustamante

VENUE: Arbutus Club, 2001 Nanton Ave, Vancouver, BC

Time:
6:00-6:30 p.m. (Check-in)
6:30-7:15 p.m. (Dinner and Lecture)

Fee: Free (Members) $150 (Non-Members)

Synopsis: Direct composites are underappreciated in today’s world of implants and computer-assisted ceramics. Yet, composites can sometimes be less invasive and more natural. Esthetic treatments, including diastema closure, black triangle closure, Class II, III and IV composite restorations are just the start of what can be done with the Bioclear Technique. In this Introductory course, Clinicians will learn the benefits of injection molding utilizing the Bioclear matrix systems, the core principles and pillars of the Bioclear method including biofilm removal, matrix selection, heated composite, an infinity margin prep design and the rock start polish. Clinicians will also be able to participate in a hands-on learning exercise which will help demonstrate how these practices can be implemented into everyday clinical life.

The Clinician:

Dr. Rafael Bustamante, DDS, graduated from the University of Lethbridge in 2000 with a degree in Biochemistry and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Alberta in 2004. He adopted the use of the dental operating microscope in early 2005. He is certified in all levels, has completed the Master Track Accreditation and is on the Faculty at the Bioclear Learning Center. In a joint venture with CRD, he has supported the formation of the first Bioclear Study Club in Canada. He has participated in many virtual and live courses to clinicians from all over the continent introducing and teaching the Bioclear Method to them.
He thrives on the quest for exactness in restorative dentistry and he feels most fulfilled when restoring teeth using the Bioclear Method or when performing either surgical or non-surgical endodontics. When he is not obsessing over tenths of a millimeter under the microscope, he is volunteering in the community, grilling anything over a roaring fire, reading a non-fiction book or enjoying a quiet evening with his wife and children.
